Curious about Jesus?

Have you heard someone mention Jesus and want to find out more for yourself? Maybe you’ve attended church for some time, but you feel like you don’t “get it”, or you have nagging questions that have gone unresolved? Maybe you have a friend who has big questions and you’re not sure how to answer them.
Come yourself or bring a friend to Simply Christianity.
Simply Christianity is a short course (5 sessions) designed to explain the story of the Christian faith in a simple way. Based on the Gospel of Luke, Simply Christianity looks at who Jesus is, what he did and what it means to be a follower of his. There is lots of opportunity to explore the gospel’s place in history as well as ample opportunity to find the answers to any questions that have been on your mind.
What can I expect at church?
Grab a parking spot off McBryde Crescent – look out for the orange signs – and come on in! Once in the church foyer, you can head into the auditorium and find a seat. We suggest arriving 5 minutes before the service start time. Then take in a 60-minute service that includes worship and the Christmas message.
Who is Simply Christianity for?
Simply Christianity is for anyone who wants to understand what is at the heart of the Christian faith. Whether you’ve attended church for 50 years, or have never heard about Jesus at all, this course provides an opportunity to unpack what the Bible says and to find answers to questions that you might have.
How long does the course last?
Simply Christianity meets once a week for around 1.5 hours over 5 weeks.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It’s free.
Is it 'Churchy'?
We hope not! It’s not a church service – there’s no preaching, singing or clapping and you won’t be asked to read aloud.
The feel is more like coffee with friends. The group leader is there to facilitate discussion and answer questions.
Do I have to say anything in the group?
Not if you don’t want to. You are welcome to simply come and listen.
How is Simply Christianity different from other courses?
Like other courses, Simply Christianity wants to unpack the Christian faith in a simple, clear fashion. It sets itself apart by providing extra resources that explore the historicity of Jesus and unpacks some big questions that people have had about the faith. Woven through the course is the opportunity to open up the Bible and read what Luke’s gospel says about Jesus.

Thank you for giving to St Matthew’s. Our strong preference is for direct deposits, as we receive exactly the amount you give. However, we can also accept gifts via credit card through the button below. Please note however that a fee of 1.9% + 30c apply, such that if you give $100 St Matts receives $97.80. There is an option to ‘cover the fees’ which you can consider (this increases your giving by the fee amount, such that you would give $102.24 and St Matts would receive $100).
